English Learner Program Update

Andy Bare updated the Committee on current and historical English Learner enrollments, staffing and Migrant program enrollments.  A full presentation will be shared at the February 26 full meeting of the Board of Education. 

RMS Block Schedule Update and Leadership Design Academy Update

Jon Rouse updated the Committee on the work of two teacher teams that are developing bell schedules to accommodate a 70 minute academic block that addresses core and elective programming goals while factoring in desired changes from the current 90 minute academic blocks.  Coinciding with the schedule work is Leadership Design Academy Team grant planning for expanding Riverside Academy to accommodate demand and growth.  Team members shared feedback from site visits and planning sessions supported from the grant awarded in December.
