Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) Math
Optional 3 credit course offered to Watertown K-5 Teachers
CGI Math is known for identifying the informal knowledge stored in a child's mind about how that child understands number concepts. This knowledge helps teachers teach mathematics in ways that connect instruction with how children think about and solve problems in their daily lives. Decades of research that originated from the University of Wisconsin has produced details on how teachers can understand a child's thinking and provide instructional opportunities to build on that thinking.
Join your colleagues for a 3 credit (optional) course this fall to learn more about CGI.
