2017-18 High School Course Proposals
Courses in the English and mathematics departments were proposed. English 10 - Reading, Writing, and Speaking in the Modern Voice will replace Speech and Composition. An elective course titled Speech and Drama will be offered to the upper grades. The rationale for the change is to ensure more writing in a year-long course. CAPP Course Proposals:
Bruce Foley, Business Education teacher, presented a proposal to offer CAPP Personal Finance and CAPP Business Economics to the 2014-15 program of studies at WHS. CAPP courses offer concurrent high school and college credit through UW-Oshkosh. Erin Meyer, Summer School Director, discussed current programming and plans for the upcoming summer session that runs from June 19 to July 18. Online registration begins on April 11. … more »National Honor Society Application Criteria:
Kris Meloy and Emmie Carpenter presented changes to the application criteria for student membership to the National Honor Society (NHS). The changes primarily reflect a return to a minimum GPA of 3.5 from 3.67. The higher GPA standard was implemented when WHS's grading scale topped out at 4.3, which it no longer does.
