In January, the adminstration will participate in a workshop designed to look at classrooms and support teachers in reflective professional improvement. 

The Classroom Walkthrough is a research based model developed from Carolyn Downey's book, The Three Minute Classroom Walk-through.  Principals and I will investigate this approach combined with other data gathering strategies to support the coaching role of the classroom observer.  The workshop will also provide professional development in the following areas:

• Observed alignment of curriculum and instruction
• Frequent witnessing of classroom expectations
• Enhanced quality of classroom visits
• Continuous reflection on teaching and student learning 

Training dates are January 17 and 18.  Classrooms visits will be part of the training.
