The Committee reviewed the purpose and structure of the 6 Traits framework for teaching and assessing writing.  Discussion focused on specific elements of the Traits and how they will complement new standards in writing and communication reflected in the Common Core Standards.  Members then convened to an active training session in the Board room involving several teachers from Riverside Middle School.
