Ed Services Meeting Summary for September 8

Bob Logan, Supervisor of Instructional Technology, shared  a timeline for the revision of the District's technology plan. A team consisting of educators, Board members, students and community members will be review the current plan as well as examine how technology supports innovative strategies for online, blended, flipped, and Project-Based learning opportunities for students and teachers over the next 3-5 years. A final proposal will be presented to the Board of Education by June of 2016.

Committee members reviewed changes to the state's assessment and accountability program included as part of Act 55 of the Wisconsin budget bill that was passed in July.  Changes include new tests in grades 3-8 that will replace the Badger 3-8 Exam that is discontinued after 1 year.  The Committee also reviewed a list of academic standards that are used in the WUSD classroom curricula across all programs and disciplines.  Act 55 requires that parents are informed annually of academic standards used in schools.
