Educational Services Meeting Summary for December 12

Technology Education:  Jesse Domer shared proposals in a new manufacturing pathway consisting of Machine Tool, Welding, and Metal Fabrication as a combined pathway.  Members from the Engineering and Manufacturing Partnership team were also available to share support for the addition of these courses in support of local industry. 

Science: Medical Interventions will be listed as the third course in the Project Lead the Way Biomedical Science pathway.  Students currently enrolled in Human Body Systems will be eligible to enroll.  Advanced Placement Environmental Science will also appear in the course book. 

English: Adam Walsh reviewed the Modern Poetry proposal that would serve as an English elective for students in grades 10-12.  It would complement the Creative Writing course currently offered.

The course book will also contain provisional language regarding changes to dual credit, Youth Options, and Course Options programs per Wisconsin Act 59.

WHS – SLO Goals- Bill Loss shared demographic and performance data regarding Watertown High School ACT data consistent with the District’s strategic plan.  The presentation will be repeated at the full meeting of the Board of Education on December 18

RMS – SLO Goals – Jon Rouse and Luke Spielman shared demographic and performance data regarding Riverside Middle School STAR data consistent with the District’s strategic plan.  The presentation will be repeated at the full meeting of the Board of Education on December 18.
