Drafts of the content specifications in mathematics and English/Language Arts for the Smarter Balanced Assessment System have been released.  The SMARTER Balanced Assessment Consortium is developing a comprehensive assessment system aligned to the Common Core State Standards with the goal of preparing all students for success in college and careers.  The Common Core content specifications were developed by leading researchers and content experts and are intended to ensure that that the assessment system accurately assesses the full range of standards.   

Stay tuned for how WUSD will move toward aligning its curriculum to the Common Core State Standards.
