2006-07 Teaching and Learning Goals Review
The following is a review of the initiatives from the Office of Curriculum and Instrution in support of the WUSD Teaching and Learning Goals for 2006-07. Email, call, or visit Dave Vitale with questions.

Content Area Focus: Math and Reading
Professional Learning Communities (see below)
Professional Development
– Professional development funds will be distributed to teachers and schools for the purpose of supporting professional growth activities that meet school-based goals.  Many of these activities will reflect efforts to improve content area instruction as expressed in the goals above.  link


Problem, Project, and Inquiry Based Learning
Goal: To evaluate and modify curricula with the intent of identifying and developing units of instruction that merge critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills with content knowledge. Specific curricular areas will be targeted for curriculum revisions focusing on problem, project, and inquiry based learning.
Objectives:
 Professional Development and Training (Learning Communities, Book Study Groups, CGI Math)

Teaching and Learning (Problem based learning, CGI Math, Content area reading and writing)
