This Message Center is organized and operated by David Vitale Jan Detrie will lead a book study featuring Lori Oczkus’ Super  6 Comprehension Strategies for elementary and middle school teachers.  Lori not only discusses how to implement each strategy in a practical way, she also provides guidelines for applying it in various instructional settings. She illustrates each strategy with a classroom vignette and has a readers reflection at the end of each chapter. Our first meeting will be Monday, October 8 and we will meet every second Monday of the month throughout the school year. 

Jan will also bring in some picture books and short texts to teach/reinforce each strategy and connect it to the Comprehension Toolkit, a resource currently in each library.

**A 3 graduate credit option is available through Viterbo University.  The cost is $240.  Staff may either sign-up for credit or audit the course.
