Professional Experience
Director of Curriculum and Instruction - 2002-present
Currently lead K-12 curriculum planning and development for a 3800 student school district. Professional responsibilities are listed below.

Elementary Principal - 2000-2002
Led 2 elementary schools concurrently. Responsibilities included hiring, instructional management and design, professional development, student activities, teacher observation and evaluation, student discipline, long range planning and leadership.

Summer School Coordinator - 2000-2002
Planned and managed the district's K-12 summer school program of over 1400 students. Offering included mainly enrichment courses with some remedial courses.

Assistant Principal - High School - 1998-2000
Responsibilities included, student discipline, teacher observation and evaluation, teacher scheduling, instructional planning in 1500 student school.

Teacher - 1993-1998
High School Social Studies teacher and athletic coach. Taught courses in United States history, psychology, economics, sociology, and Advanced Placement U.S. History. Coaching duties included volleyball (head) and baseball (assistant). I also served as the head of the social studies department for two years and coordinated senior class graduation activities.

Adjunct Faculty Instructor - 2008-2013
Taught doctoral level courses in technology and instructional design for Aurora University.


Current Professional Responsibilities
Curriculum Planning and Review
Plan and review curricula for all K-12 instructional programs. Work with faculty and school board committees to plan, review, and adopt curriculum for the K-12 instructional program.

District Assessment Director
Oversee large scale standardized testing as well as classroom, benchmark, and customized testing. Perform test item analysis of assessment results for instructional purposes.

Write and Manage Federal Grants
Lead ESEA Title grant writing and implementation.

Professional Development Coordinator
Lead professional development planning and implementation for 400 professional and paraprofessional staff. Develop or offer courses in professional development to district staff through Viterbo University (Wisconsin). Recent topics include reading comprehension, 6 Traits writing, and the integration of a professional development action framework that is linked in my Photos and Archives.

Mentor Program Coordinator
Co-coordinate district-wide mentor training and mentor/new teacher induction program. Related to my work in the mentor program is oversight of teacher licensing through PI 34 and the development of Professional Development Plans (PDPs) by newly licensed and veteran teachers, administrators, and pupil service professionals.

Instructional Technology Integrator
Develop and implement instructional technology integration tools and strategies. Currently involved in 1:1 laptop integration for all 5th and 6th grade students (approximately 500). Supervise instructional technology coordinator and network specialist.
