Fact Fluency with Fastt Math
The district has adopted Fastt Math, a Scholastic computer-based fact fluency intervention that works with the Scholastic Achievement Manager (SAM) to monitor the growth of students' computational skills.  Student data and feedback from staff indicates that fact fluency remains an area of needed emphasis for a certain percentage of our student population.  Each student with an account will work for 10 minutes per day in a customized computer-based … more »

Everyday Mathematics

Background:

Nearly 50 teachers completed a 4 day workshop in 2007 that focused on CGI Math.  The workshop generated a lot of discussion in each of our elementary schools about current and future mathematics instruction in our district.  Part of this discussion is centered on Everyday Mathematics as a curriculum that promotes problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills in students while developing important foundational skills.
